Report: Giants ‘looked into’ trading for Eagles TE Dallas Goedert
Apparently, the New York Giants were trying to pry Dallas Goedert away from the Eagles.
According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, New York “looked into” trading for the Eagles star tight end.
On the Giants inquiring about Goedert:
“I heard at one point they looked into Dallas Goedert,” Raanan said. “He sounds like a guy who is going to get traded at some point in this draft.
“Now, I am not expecting Dallas Goedert to get traded to the Giants, but the fact that they checked in on it definitely made me scratch my head a little bit. . . It’s something they are at least monitoring.”
It’s pretty funny that the Giants of all organizations are calling us to make a trade. Howie Roseman has already embarrassed that franchise, why would they ever want to make a trade with him? I guess Joe Shoen, the Giants GM, is just desperate at this point.
The Goedert trade talk will probably come to a head within the next week or so as team’s prepare for next week’s NFL Draft. It’s hard to predict how this situation will end. At this point, I could totally see him returning to Philadelphia and playing out the rest of his contract, especially if Howie isn’t getting the type of offers he was expecting. Only time will tell.
