Lebron James

Lebron James gives Rudy Gobert the death stare after dirty play then proceeds to choke the game away as Timberwolves take commanding 3-1 series lead over the Lakers

You know the story: LeBron James got mad, mean-mugged someone, then totally disappeared when his team needed him most. Rinse. Repeat. It’s only a matter of time as I’m writing this that Lebron will play the blame game during his post game press conference.

Game 4 between the Lakers and Timberwolves was supposed to be the night LeBron James reminded everyone he’s still that guy. Instead, it turned into another chapter in the growing book of why he’s not the GOAT. This was a must-win game for the Lakers as they were down 2-1 heading into this crucial game.

The Timberwolves gutted out a 116-113 win to take a commanding 3-1 series lead, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting collapse for the Lakers.

Let’s start with the drama:

LeBron gave Gobert the death stare, barked at him, had to be held back — the whole WWE routine. Gobert ended up hit with a flagrant foul, and Minnesota’s Chris Finch caught a technical for arguing it.

But here’s the thing — for all the barking and tough-guy energy, when it mattered most?
LeBron James vanished. In the 4th quarter:

  • 12 minutes played
  • 0 points
  • 0-for-2 from the field
  • Not the GOAT

Did I mention Lebron also had a very costly foul at the end of the game that costed the Lakers? Just a total fourth quarter disaster class from Lebron James.

While LeBron faded, Anthony Edwards rose to the moment like a true superstar. Honestly, this wasn’t just a great game — this was a statement game.

Anthony Edwards Tonight:

  • 43 Points
  • 9 Rebounds
  • 6 Assists
  • 12/23 FG
  • 5/10 from three
  • 14/17 from the line

The lights were the brightest, and Ant-Man owned the stage. There’s no more “up-and-coming” talk. He’s here. He’s the face of the league now — and this Game 4 performance should have removed any doubt.

Edwards carried Minnesota down the stretch, too. After Jaden McDaniels scored a clutch three-point play to give the Wolves the lead, Ant stole the ball from LeBron and then drew a foul on LeBron with just 10 seconds left.

The Lakers blew a golden opportunity to tie the series heading back to LA. Instead, they’re staring elimination in the face — and all because their so-called king went ghost when it mattered most.

Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards looks like he’s ready to take the NBA torch and run away with it.

Whew, I think I need a breather after today.

Sunday’s NBA playoff action was pure chaos in the best way possible. Every game was chippy, physical, and filled with controversy — just how we like it.

Between the Pistons getting absolutely robbed by the refs in Game 4 against the Knicks (go check out my full breakdown of that mess) and now this game.

Pistons get screwed by the refs in game 4, Knicks steal a controversial win as NBA officials release their statement following the game >>

This is only round one of the NBA Playoffs and I am so invested. After a long, grueling regular season of load management, injuries, and lack of defense, we now have the product of basketball we all know and love.
