Timberwolves relentlessly troll the Lakers after five-game gentleman’s sweep in Round 1
The Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers with a 103–96 victory, clinching the first-round series 4–1. Rudy Gobert dominated with 27 points and a franchise-record 24 rebounds, while Julius Randle added 23 points.
Despite Luka Dončić’s 28 points and LeBron James’ 22, Los Angeles struggled with fourth-quarter execution and defensive lapses. A back injury to Dončić further hindered their efforts. Minnesota now advances to face either the Houston Rockets or the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals.
After the classic Gentleman’s Sweep, the TWolves admin took to Twitter and fired off not one, not two, not three… but TEN tweets.
The Timberwolves showed quite literally zero mercy to LA after running them off the floor:

Jeeeeeeeesus Christ, dude. Stop hitting them, they’re already dead!!!
On one hand, this is absolutely hilarious. Minnesota ran LeBron, Luka, & Co. off the floor in embarrassing fashion. The TWolves just wanted it more, and it showed on pretty much every possession across all five games.
It also didn’t help LA’s case that they paired the piss-poor effort with the fact they don’t have anyone remotely big enough to even pretend to be a center. There was no chance for them to win a title, and Minnesota’s combination of size and intensity was honestly their worst possible first-round matchup to start the playoffs.
On the other hand, though, I feel like this is almost excessive. Not that I care about LA’s feelings, but still, maybe a little more restraint after Round 1, yanno? There are three rounds left if you want to win a title.
The Western Conference is no joke, either. I genuinely don’t believe any Eastern Conference team other than the Celtics and Cavs would avoid the play-in if you dropped them into the West.
Then again, any team with Anthony Edwards on it likely doesn’t know when to stop. The dude is honestly insane, so the social media admin choosing violence after a definitive series victory isn’t exactly something I’d call surprising.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Anthony Edwards is known for his bold confidence and high-energy attitude, often walking the line between cocky and charismatic. He insists it’s not arrogance and is just a deep belief in his abilities, something he says drives him to be the best at whatever he does.
Despite some fines for on-court antics, Edwards’ fearless approach inspires his teammates and lifts Minnesota’s energy. His mix of swagger, humor, and leadership makes him one of the NBA’s most dynamic young stars. He’s been must-watch TV all season, and that energy has been amplified by the NBA playoff atmosphere in a big way.
Now, we wait and see who Edwards will have the pleasure of squaring off with next. The Houston Rockets are a dynamic defensive team coached by Ime Udoka that can match the Wolves’ intensity.
The Warriors are a more veteran-laden team, but Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler are both certified basketball psychopaths. No matter how you slice it, there’s going to be tempers flaring in either matchup in the Western Conference Playoffs.
