Dallas native Jordan Spieth gets warm Philly welcome from Eagles fans at Truist Championship

The PGA Tour is blessed to be in Philadelphia this week for the Truist Championship. Philadelphia Cricket Club welcomes golf’s best to the City of Brotherly Love, and golf fans across the city are thrilled. But Dallas native Jordan Spieth was reminded exactly where he was when he took the first tee accompanied by a volley of Cowboys-related jeers.

Jordan Spieth quickly found out that Eagles fans are everywhere, even at a PGA Signature Event:

This is yet another shining example of Philadelphia being the best sports city in America. It just means more here. No matter the event, if there’s a reason to insert yourself as an Eagles fan, someone is going to do it.

Hell, if the newly elected pope turned out to be a Cowboys fan, you just know you’d hear a “Go Birds” or a “How bout them Cowboys” echo throughout St. Peter’s Square.

Of course, the Super Bowl championship has made us fans even more insufferable, but this would have happened even if the Cowboys were good and the Eagles were bad. Fortunately, that’s not the case, but there’s a dark, twisted timeline in the multiverse where it is.

Jordan Spieth was clearly rattled by the hostile crowd, firing an even-par 70 in the first round of the tournament. He currently sits in a tie for 65th heading into round two.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
