Vic Fangio was ‘fine’ with Howie Roseman trading CJ Gardner-Johnson

The Eagles defense has seen a lot of turnover after winning the Super Bowl. DC Vic Fangio was asked about some of the departures, but had an interesting response to a question about the front office trading away CJ Gardner-Johnson.

Vic Fangio said the move was a “salary cap type thing” and that he was “fine with it”:

Damn, Fangio hit us with a short and sweet answer with this one. I’m not going to speculate that there’s beef between the two or anything like that, but it’s clear he’s not exactly broken up about the breakup.

On the flip side, there’s no chance he’s going to openly question Howie’s decision in a press conference for the media to run with. Even if he was on his knees begging Howie not to trade CJ, he’s professional enough not to air that out in the media.

Fangio also didn’t go out of his way to shower praise on his former safety, but he’s not really that kind of guy. Regardless of how you slice it, it’s clear he’s not going to miss CJ too much one way or the other.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
