Jalen Hurts announces children’s book “Better than a Touchdown” is coming in 2026

Jalen Hurts is officially a published author.

The Eagles QB and walking Instagram caption announced Monday that his debut children’s book Better than a Touchdown is now available for pre-order.

The book, illustrated by Nneka Meyers and published by Penguin Random House, drops on March 10, 2026. For Hurts, this isn’t some off-season brand filler. It’s something he’s wanted to do for a long time.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own children’s book,” Hurts said on Instagram. “With this book, I’m excited to extend some of my lessons learned throughout my journey to the next generation… and hopefully it strikes a chord of resilience.”

The Plot: Jalen Misses Football Tryouts, But Gains Something Bigger

The book follows a young kid named Jalen (subtle) who’s fired up to try out for the school football team — until the team gets cut. From there, the story focuses on how Jalen bounces back, powered by community, friendship, and the magic of good advice.

So yeah, it’s basically a metaphor for Jalen Hurts’ entire career.

According to the publisher, Better than a Touchdown is “a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.”

From Super Bowl MVP to Storybook Author

Jalen Hurts has already proven he can handle adversity, leadership, and winning on the game’s biggest stage.

In case you missed it (you didn’t) this past February, he led the Philadelphia Eagles to their second Super Bowl title and took home MVP honors. Now he’s packaging some of that wisdom and putting it in the hands of kids.

Honestly, it makes sense.

The guy’s been speaking in poetic life lessons since his rookie year. Whether it’s “I had a purpose before anyone had an opinion” or “I didn’t walk through the fire just to smell the smoke,” Hurts is a human fortune cookie with a cannon for an arm.
