WATCH: Multiple Eagles players were arguing over getting Joe Burrow’s jersey after Week 8 contest
The Eagles walked into Cincinnati last season and handled business with a 37-17 win. But after the clock hit zero, you’d think Joe Burrow had just thrown for 500 yards and five touchdowns the way Philly players were lining up for his jersey.
Thanks to Netflix’s Quarterback series, we now know a handful of Eagles defenders were practically arguing over who got to take home Burrow’s rare “White Bengal” uniform — despite the loss, and despite Burrow having a relatively quiet day: 234 yards, one touchdown, one interception.
But if you know ball, you know why.
Eagles Got the Win, But Burrow Still Got the Respect
This wasn’t just a jersey swap — it was a status grab. Joe Burrow might not have gone nuclear on the stat sheet, but he still commands the kind of respect very few QBs in the league do. Calm, sharp, unbothered. The guy could be down 20 and still look like he’s in total control.

And let’s not forget, that alternate uniform? Clean. The “White Bengal” look made it even more of a collector’s item. Combine that with Burrow’s mystique and yeah, it’s no surprise Eagles players were ready to throw hands just to get it.
Joe Burrow Is That Dude, Win or Lose
Say what you want about the final score — Burrow’s reputation doesn’t rise or fall with one game. There’s a reason Eagles players wanted his jersey even after beating him soundly: he’s got it. He’s one of the smartest, coolest, most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL. Period.
You can tell how respected a player is by how opponents treat him after a game. And when defenders on a 37-17 winning squad are debating who gets your jersey? That says it all.
Eagles Took the Dub, but Burrow Took the Spotlight
Even in a loss, Burrow’s name was the one buzzing, because real recognize real. The Eagles did what they had to do on the field, but once that game ended, it was clear: getting a piece of Joe Burrow was just as valuable as getting the win.
And honestly? I don’t blame them one bit. He’s one of my favorite quarterbacks in the league. Cool under pressure. Absolute gamer. And apparently? Philly agrees.
