Jalen Hurts Engagement Farm: ESPN’s Kevin Clark foolishly labels Super Bowl LIX MVP a “helper” quarterback

Reminder: We’re all better off ignoring anyone who disrespects Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts over the next few months. They are all a bunch of nasty, unintelligent engagement farmers.

In today’s trip to the Jalen Hurts Engagement Farm, we welcome ESPN’s Kevin Clark, who put released one of the dumbest quarterback tier lists the world has ever seen and slotted Jalen Hurts in the “helper” category.

ESPN’s Kevin Clark foolishly labels Jalen Hurts a “helper” quarterback

SB Nation Completely Disrespects Jalen Hurts in NFL QB Rankings — And I’ve Proposed the Only Logical Solution to This Disaster

Say it with me: Jalen Hurts isn’t a “helper” quarterback, he is the help. Calling him a “helper” quarterback is basically saying that he’s a “system quarterback” and again, Jalen Hurts is literally the system.

Does Kevin Clark not realize that Jalen Hurts is a defending World Champion quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that absolutely embarrassed anyone who stood in their way last season, including the former-dynasty Kansas City Chiefs?

It would appear he doesn’t realize anything except the marching orders that ESPN hands out to drive engagement and mask their “analysts” and “reporters” as actual journalists and members of the media.

According to Kevin Clark, “helper” QBs are defined as guys who can open a championship window if they’ve got the right system, offensive line, coaching staff, play-caller, and whatever else is available to discredit the actual quarterback.

I don’t even understand that logic because I’m pretty sure that’s exactly the description for any quarterback in the history of the NFL, right?

Patrick Mahomes is the best player on Earth and still needed Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and a line that could actually block to win. Joe Burrow needs an O-line like he needs oxygen. Lamar Jackson is still waiting for a WR room that doesn’t feel like a clearance aisle.

ESPN and Kevin Clark don’t care in the slightest. They just want to knock Jalen Hurts because he has weapons around him and guys like Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson in the trenches.

One more “elite” comment on Jayden Daniels and I’ll jump off the Benny Frank Bridge

And while we’re here, let’s talk about Jayden Daniels getting placed above Hurts as “elite.” Look, Daniels is fun. He runs around, slings it, plays fearless. I get it. It’s fun.

Jayden Daniels also threw for nine more yards than Hurts in the NFC Championship on 20 more attempts. He tossed a pick. Took three sacks. The Commanders were a cute story but if we’re crowning him “elite” already, we might as well hand out busts for the Hall of Fame to guys after 17 games.

Daniels is due for a sophomore dip the same way every new QB is when defensive coordinators get a full offseason to dissect your tape. Washington’s 2025 season is not going to look like it did last year. Take it to the bank.

The reality here is that Hurts is low-hanging fruit for the offseason Engagement Farm. The guy is polarizing. He doesn’t say much unless he’s talking in poetry or biblical verses. He doesn’t party. He doesn’t post thirst traps or pick social media beefs.

He just wins games, grinds film, and wears suits that make your tax bracket nervous.

That makes him a prime target for the lazy takes this time of year, especially when ESPN and others are chasing engagement with AI-tier graphics and fake debates.

It’s not even about disrespect at this point. It’s just boring sports media doing the only thing it knows how to do in July when nothing else is actually happening. Drum up fake, rage bait lists and let the fans go nuts on social media while the clicks roll in.

And you know what? We’re all here. Talking about it. Again.

Obviously, Jalen Hurts isn’t a “helper.” He’s the engine. He’s the identity. And if the Eagles are back in the NFC title game in January, nobody will remember who Kevin Clark is or what tier chart he made on a Tuesday in July.

We’ll remember though. We’ll always remember.
