Eagles reporters can’t stop asking players about last year when everyone clearly wants to focus on 2025

It must be boring being an Eagles reporter in times like this. No drama to drum up, no players holding out for a new contract. Just a team putting in work and doing everything in their power to forget about last season and focus on 2025. Unfortunately, reporters are ill-equipped to deal with peace times.

We’ve gone through OTAs, minicamp, and now, we’re in training camp. Still, reporters cannot stop asking players about last season. Every member of the team — from Jalen Hurts, to most recently Landon Dickerson — have been asked about how they move on from a Super Bowl and focus on the present. Every player has a sound bite now and have essentially said the same thing: Last year doesn’t matter anymore.

And yet? The same recycled questions keep getting thrown around like it’s Day 1 of the offseason. Because let’s be real — these Eagles beat reporters don’t actually care about the answers. They just want clicks. They want to bait a player into saying something emotional or controversial so they can run it as a headline for traffic.

I get it, some of these sound bites are electric and get me going. They get everyone going, honestly. But I’m good now. Let’s talk about 2025.

Just let the Eagles focus on 2025

The Eagles have moved on. They’ve turned the page. They’re treating this like a new era — and you can see it in how the team has conducted themselves since January. But the media won’t let it go, because they don’t know how to function without a messy narrative. When they’re not digging through fake contract disputes or injury conspiracies, they’re regurgitating questions that were asked six pressers ago just to fill dead air.

It’s the sports journalism equivalent of “So… how about this weather?” — lazy, uninspired, and completely out of touch with what this team is actually about right now.

The 2025 Eagles are loaded, locked in, and chasing another ring. If the reporters covering them can’t find anything more insightful than “How do you move on from last year?” then maybe they should take a long look at their notepads and ask themselves who’s really stuck in the past. Because it’s not the players. It’s not the coaches.

It’s the media who can’t stop staring at the rearview mirror while the Eagles are already flooring it into the future.
