Kyle Schwarber wins Phillies’ 2025 Heart and Hustle Award

The MLBPAA announced the 2025 team winners of the Heart and Hustle Award, and for the Phillies, it’s Kyle Schwarber taking home the honor.

The award, now in its 20th year, is given to one player from each team who “exemplifies a true passion for the game and who best embodies the values, spirit, and tradition of baseball.”

It’s also the only MLB award voted on by former players, with the overall league-wide winner being determined later this year through a combination of alumni and fan votes.

Kyle Schwarber: Heart, Hustle, and Home Runs

Schwarber’s on-field resume this season speaks for itself. He’s already blasted 40+ homers, leads MLB in RBIs, and is pacing toward a career year in a stacked Phillies lineup.

The Heart and Hustle Award goes beyond stats. It’s about leadership, grit, and love for the game which makes sense, given the fact that Kyle Schwarber has been the emotional engine of the Phillies ever since he stepped foot in the clubhouse.

Kyle Schwarber just took a massive leap in the National League MVP race

He plays every inning like it’s October, and whether he’s launching Schwarbombs into the second deck or hyping up teammates in the dugout, there’s no doubt he’s the guy you want going into battle.

This is his third straight year earning the Heart and Hustle nod for the Phillies, which should tell you everything you need to know about how much respect he’s earned.

League-Wide Honor on the Horizon?

Past league-wide winners include names like Roy Halladay, Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, and Paul Goldschmidt. Kyle Schwarber has a real shot to join that list when the overall winner is announced this November on MLB Network.
