Eagles Update: Landon Dickerson carted off during open practice

Of course. The first Eagles public practice at the Linc I’ve missed in years… and this happens. Landon Dickerson, three-time Pro Bowl left guard, goes down with a leg injury in front of thousands of fans. So, blame me.

The injury went down toward the end of what was already a longer-than-usual Nick Sirianni practice (over two hours). Dickerson stayed on the ground for a while, with teammates kneeling around him. Jordan Mailata, his partner in trench dominance, looked visibly stressed, pacing nearby like he was waiting for bad news.

Eventually, Dickerson got up with the help of a trainer and Big Dom, but he was clearly favoring his leg. After getting checked on the sideline, he was carted off to the locker room.

And yes, this is the same guy who was just removed from the injury report earlier in the day.

Now, before we all start panic-ordering offensive line depth charts, there is some early optimism here. After talking to people in the know, the hope is this is just a knee sprain.

That’s not gospel, and we can’t jump to any conclusions — but it’s at least better than hearing the words “season-ending” the same night it happened.

And honestly, knowing Landon? The dude’s built like a damn brick shithouse. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s perfectly fine and lined up at left guard Week 1 like nothing happened.
