FBI footage of Caitlin Clark’s stalker proves exactly why this should’ve never gotten this far
The police finally dropped body cam footage of FBI agents confronting Michael Lewis — the 55-year-old creep from Texas who spent months stalking Caitlin Clark. And honestly, after watching it, I can’t believe it even took this long to lock him up.
This guy wasn’t some harmless fan who got carried away. He was a total weirdo who crossed every possible line, and the league, the team, and honestly everyone in charge of protecting Clark should’ve acted way sooner.

#Exclusive 🚨 The man convicted of stalking Caitlin Clark told FBI agents just days before his arrest that he had nothing more than “an imaginary relationship” with the WNBA superstar. 🔗 For full video! https://t.co/gFXchcZ3Im pic.twitter.com/Hx3MiSMsIl

Back in January, Lewis was staying at a hotel in downtown Indianapolis when agents finally confronted him. The footage (first obtained by TMZ, because of course the WNBA couldn’t even control their own star’s safety narrative) shows Lewis admitting he was sending Clark disturbing messages — but brushing it off like it was some joke.
“That’s all it is. It doesn’t involve any threats,” Lewis told the agents. “Just a play fun thing. That’s all it is.”
The Red Flags Everyone Ignored
The FBI literally warned him that night. They checked his room, found nothing, and told him to knock it off. And what did he do? Kept messaging Caitlin anyway. Four days later — four days — he was arrested and eventually pleaded guilty.
The whole time, he tried spinning it like he was doing her a favor, saying he just wanted to “educate her on the importance of being safe.” You can’t make this up.
Man. As if the WNBA doesn’t do a good enough job protecting her on the court, it’s arguably just as bad if not worse, off the court.

I’m just personally looking forward to the day when I get to blog and create content centered around her dominating on the court again. All this WNBA drama and injury stuff has really ruined the back-half of the summer for me.
On the bright side, we have football on the horizon. So, all is good for us sports super fans.
