Roster Moves: Phillies DFA bullpen arm, place another on the IL, and recall 2 from Lehigh Valley

The Phillies announced a wave of roster moves on Tuesday, reshaping their bullpen mix after a tough game in Queens last night.

Phillies Roster Moves:

  • Daniel Robert recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley
  • Lou Trivino selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley (will wear No. 57)
  • Jordan Romano placed on the 15-day IL (right middle finger inflammation)
  • Joe Ross released

Phillies smacked around by Mets, Cristopher Sánchez tagged for season-high 6 runs in 13-3 Loss

Daniel Robert Back Up
Robert’s back after shuttling between Philly and Allentown all season. He’s been a steady option when called upon, and this recall suggests the Phillies want more fresh right-handed depth in the middle innings.

Lou Trivino Joins the Mix
Trivino, the former A’s reliever, officially gets his contract selected and slides into the bullpen. He’s another experienced arm with playoff history, and he could end up carving out a bigger role if he’s sharp early.

Romano to the IL
This one is the only possible scenario where Jordan Romano can still hold a roster spot. At this point, I’m honestly impressed. Good for him.

Joe Ross DFA’d
Ross is out after a rough run. The righty never quite clicked in Philly, and with the postseason push heating up, the team clearly decided to cut ties and free up the spot.
