Mike Schmidt swore on live TV and that’s fine by me
Phillies legend Mike Schmidt joined the Phillies postgame show after Kyle Schwarber’s historic four-homer game. He was the last Phillie to achieve that feat back in 1976, and he reflected on what turned into one of the best performances of his career.
Mike Schmidt let a little profanity slip, but if I were in that spot I would’ve let a lot more fly:

You can see the look on Michael Barkann and Ricky Bottalico’s faces after that. Definitely not allowed on live television, but again, who cares? Kyle Schwarber just made history and Mike Fucking Schmidt is on the air.
I know I opened up talking about Mike Schmidt, but I can’t help but bring up Schwarber. I understand that international fraudster Shohei Ohtani is going to win MVP. I understand that I’m tainted by irrefutable homerism. But if he ends up with 60 home runs – or at least gets close – you simply have to recognize greatness when it’s in front of you.
