Saquon Barkley takes No. 1 spot on the NFL Top 100 Players list
Saquon Barkley came to Philadelphia to win, and in his first season he delivered one of the greatest years the NFL has ever seen. Players across the league took notice – I mean, how could they not – voting him the No. 1 player in the annual NFL Top 100 list heading into 2025.
Saquon Barkley put together one of the most dominant seasons in the history of the sport:

Barkley’s debut season in midnight green was legendary. He became just the ninth player in league history to rush for more than 2,000 yards, then kept it going in the postseason by breaking the all-time record for combined rushing yards in a single year. When it was all said and done, he finished with 2,504 rushing yards across 20 games and 2,857 scrimmage yards.
Oh yeah. And he hurdled a guy backwards in one of the most absurd feats of athleticism ever seen on a football field.
When you play like that, it’s no surprise when the accolades pile up. Saquon Barkley was a Pro Bowler, an All-Pro, Offensive Player of the Year, third in MVP voting, and the cover athlete of Madden 26.
He climbed every possible mountaintop except the single-season rushing record, and that was his choice to stay healthy for the playoffs. Of course, that decision paid off, as he then capped it all off by winning a Super Bowl in New Orleans against the Chiefs.
Now, the players themselves have named him the best in the game. And you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who could make a case to the contrary.
The Eagles were well-represented on the list, with ten players making the Top 100:
95. Josh Sweat
69. Jordan Mailata
60. Cooper DeJean
49. Quinyon Mitchell
43. Jalen Carter
29. A.J. Brown
26. Zack Baun
23. Lane Johnson
19. Jalen Hurts
1. Saquon Barkley
The Eagles were so well represented, in fact, that opposing fan bases would have embarrassing meltdowns on social media. Somehow, the best team in football rostering many of the best players in the league didn’t make any sense to those troglodytes.
Of the 10 Eagles voted onto the list, only Sweat has departed. Everyone else is back and ready to defend the crown. Barkley being voted No. 1 by his peers is more than just a personal achievement. It is another reminder that the Eagles are built on blue-chip talent and entering 2025 with as much momentum as any team in the league.
Saquon Barkley came to Philadelphia to win championships and solidify his place as the best running back in football. One year in, he has done both.
