Merrill Reese defends Jalen Carter’s honor, says his ejection was ‘ridiculous’

Leave it to Merrill Reese to be one of the only people making any sense in the whole Jalen Carter-Dak Prescott discourse.

As we all know, Carter spit on Dak (after Dak spit at him first #ReleaseThePrescottFiles) and was promptly thrown out of the game. NBC decided to hold onto the Dak Files for three hours before showing the audience what actually happened, which obviously changed the context of the whole thing.

Reese agrees and thinks tossing Carter was complete overkill.

Honestly, getting tossed after spitting on someone is pretty reasonable. The refs just didn’t care that Dak did it first and was clearly being unsportsmanlike towards Carter. Should Carter still have done it? No. But be real with yourself — if another man spits in your direction trying to be disrespectful, spitting back at him is the bare minimum you could do.

Even with Carter in the locker room, the Eagles still got the win. In the end, that’s all that matters.
