Jalen Carter’s Next Mission: Stop Mahomes from trucking defenders on the sideline

Patrick Mahomes: rat. Jalen Carter: pest control.

The Eagles’ Week 2 trip to Kansas City comes with one mission, don’t let Patrick Mahomes pull this nonsense.

This play from Mahomes on Friday night caused quite the uproar — and rightfully so. We’ve seen this movie before: Mahomes eases up near the sideline, waits for contact, then flops like a fish. Ref tosses the flag. Rinse, repeat.

Mahomes knows defenders are forced to pull up on the sideline to avoid penalties. Teams have lost games to the Chiefs on flags from this exact sequence. So what does he do? Pretends he’s going out of bounds, then drops his shoulder and trucks an unsuspecting defender.

I simply won’t have it.

Enter Jalen Carter. Or Sydney Brown. Either one works.

This can’t happen next week. Carter’s fresh off an ejection and probably staring at a fine after spitting on Dak Thursday night. But this time? A dirty hit feels warranted, and I’m openly encouraging it. Don’t let this guy clown the game like that. Put him in his place and play real football.
