Weird Take: 94WIP host believes an Eagles loss to Kansas City on Sunday would be ‘acceptable’

94WIP really is just running out of shit to talk about, and the NFL season just started. Not sure how they ran out of content this quickly, but here we are.

On Tuesday, friend of the site Eliot Shorr-Parks decided to fire off this take:

Sunday is an acceptable loss for the Eagles

Borderline impossible spot vs KC coming off a loss and in their home opener

Getting blown out is not acceptable. Losing is.

Eliot was then invited onto the afternoon show to defend his take.

I actually get where ESP is coming from here. It’s obviously not the end of the world if the Eagles lose to KC on Sunday — a lot of football left to be played this year. But I also understand the game he’s playing. By using the word ‘acceptable,’ he successfully rage baited Eagles Twitter into replying to him.

And look, at the end of the day, ESP, along with everyone else at 94WIP, doesn’t get paid to have correct takes. They get paid to get engagement. Being right doesn’t equal engagement. Pissing people off, 99% of the time, does.

Sad state of affairs in sports media. I’ve thankfully freed myself from the shackles of WIP discourse long ago — I just write for a Philly sports publication so the algorithm force feeds me anything Eagles related whenever I look at my phone. Thus, I saw this unfortunate Tweet from TLL superfan ESP.
