Eagles Outlook: Vic Fangio confirms CB2 starter isn’t going anywhere

Unfortunately, it looks like the Eagles are still rolling with Adoree Jackson as their CB2.

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Vic Fangio confirmed Jackson will remain the starter for another week.

Keyword there: “Right now.” Fangio isn’t afraid to move off a guy if he’s underperforming. He did it last year with Avonte Maddox, eventually replacing him with Cooper DeJean. And he’ll do it again this year if he has to with Jackson.

The real question is, who would take the CB2 spot if Jackson gets benched? My guess is Jakorian Bennett. Maybe Kelee Ringo figures out a way to get back in the mix, but now it feels like Bennett or bust.

Regardless of who potentially takes Jackson’s spot, it would be hard to do much worse than he did Thursday night. He was targeted seven times, allowing five receptions for 103 yards and five first downs. If you don’t think Patrick Mahomes is going to target Jackson early and often on Sunday, I have a rental property down the shore I’d like to sell you.

Rashee Ricee and Xavier Worthy being sidelined for Week 2 obviously helps the Eagles, but we all know Andy Reid is sitting in his office right now scheming up ways to get receptions against Jackson whilst eating a cheeseburger.

For now, it looks like we’re stuck with Jackson. If he continues to play like dog shit, I think Fangio pulls the trigger pretty quickly.
