And just like that, the Phillies only have roughy a nine percent chance of winning this NLDS against the Dodgers and advancing to the NLCS. Somehow, someway, in two straight games at home, the Phils managed to lose in even more gut-wrenching fashion than they did at home.
And what we were all hoping would feel like a Red October, has simply felt like dead October. Sound familiar?

You ever see a horror movie and know exactly when the villain’s gonna pop out of a closet? That’s how this Phillies postseason feels every year — we wait for our “stars” to save us and instead they pull a Halloween special and turn into pumpkins. Which especially hurts because Harper was once the guy who came up huge time and time again in the postseason.

As for Game 2 against the Dodgers, Same script, different year: Bryce Harper, Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber combined to go 2-for-21 with 11 strikeouts through the first two games of this NLDS and not a single extra-base hit among them.
Expensive Pain
The Phillies have like over $700 million invested in total in the top of their lineup and that’s the production that they get?
Like Ricky Bo said, “those are the guys that are supposed to do the damage.”
And don’t even get me started on Rob Thompson who manages to cost the Phils in every big spot imaginable.
