Cam York returns, Flyers send Emil Andrae back to Lehigh Valley
The Flyers are getting one of their top defensemen back tonight. Cam York has officially been activated off injured reserve and will make his season debut when the Flyers host the Winnipeg Jets tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
The 24-year-old missed the team’s first three games with a lower-body injury but has been practicing regularly this week alongside Travis Sanheim, his usual top-pair partner. To make room for York’s return, the Flyers sent Emil Andrae back down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Rick Tocchet said Andrae “did a really nice job” during Monday’s 5–2 win over the Florida Panthers, but roster flexibility ultimately made the difference. Andrae was the only defenseman who could be sent down without having to clear waivers.
The Flyers’ defensive pairs at practice:
- Cam York – Travis Sanheim
- Nick Seeler – Jamie Drysdale
- Adam Ginning – Noah Juulsen
