Bob Myers leaves ESPN to join Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment
Former Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers is leaving ESPN to join Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. His role, which is explained in the tweet below, yet I still don’t quite grasp, will have him working across their full portfolio of franchises. Including, of course, the much-maligned 76ers.
I’m usually skeptical of Harris Blitzer, but hiring Bob Myers is a great move:

Myers has worked with Harris Blitzer before. He was hired to help the Commanders identify their next coach and president of football operations. As much as I dislike that franchise, I have to say that it worked in their favor.
Honestly, I kind of wish the Sixers had canned Daryl Morey and brought Myers in as his replacement instead. He’s a four-time NBA Champion and two-time Executive of the Year.
That’s the kind of winning pedigree the Sixers need at the helm. Not a dork whose teams have never made the NBA Finals.
But, beggars can’t be choosers, and when it comes to the Sixers, I’ve been doing so much begging I make the guy under the Berks el stop look like an aristocrat. At the very least, he’ll be involved with helping out Morey in some capacity and hopefully tell Josh Harris to fire him.
Either way, I’ll miss Bob Myers on ESPN. He’d walk the line between talking ball and entertainment perfectly in a way pretty much no other ESPN basketball personality can. Not including Tim Legler, of course. He’s the man.
