Eagles Road Trip Guide: Dallas – Week 12

If you’re planning to make the trip to Dallas to watch the Eagles take on the Cowboys in Week 12, but have no idea what to do when you get there, you’ve come to the right place.

This is the comprehensive Eagles Road Trip Guide: Dallas edition.

Of course, if you want to skip the planning and let the professionals handle everything, you’d be silly not to book with Phans of Philly. They handle flights, hotels, game tickets, and even have an all-inclusive tailgate. Plus, they usually put on an event or two to keep the vibes rolling through the weekend into gameday.

Ahhhh, Jerry World. I was tempted to slot this higher on my initial Road Trip Rankings list, mostly because I’m so morbidly curious to see that hulking monstrosity for myself. There is also something to be said about the thrill of being behind enemy lines.

Fortunately for us here at The Liberty Line, we’ll finally get that chance. We’ll be down there with Phans in beautiful Fort Worth, TX, so these recommendations will be centered in that area. Fortunately for you, I’ve been there a few times, so I’ve already done the extensive research required, saving you the effort.

Panther City BBQ Near Southside

If you’re in Texas, you simply need to get some barbecue. Panther City is one of the best things the area has to offer. The brisket is so good that the last time I had it, I couldn’t help but laugh. I’m an emotional eater, not because I eat when I’m emotional, but because I get emotional when I eat. This meal genuinely healed me of whatever was ailing me at the time. I personally guarantee you’ll love every bite from this place.

Buffalo Bros Downtown Fort Worth

Is this essentially Texas’s answer to PJ Whelihan’s? Yes. Is it the perfect place to spend a college football Saturday? Absolutely. TV screens line the inside and outside of the bar area, so every seat is the best seat in the house. Throw in solid bar fare and an extensive draft list, and you’ve got a perfect place to stop in for some grub or to park your ass for a few hours. Do yourself a favor and grab a schooner of Shiner Bock while you’re in there.

Cattlemen’s Steak House Fort Worth Stockyards

You’re in beef country, so go eat some beef. This is a classic southern steakhouse that I could not recommend more. The vibes are excellent and the food is even better. Dial up a rare ribeye, some southern sides, and two to 20 martinis, and you are guaranteed to have a phenomenal meal.

Mi Cocina Downtown Fort Worth

Cute Tex-Mex spot right in downtown with great food and cocktails for solid prices. I’ve also fallen in love with every server I’ve had there (but that happens a lot everywhere I go). Great for a bite to eat to lay a solid foundation before dumping booze into your gullet all day long.

The Stockyards

So, we’ve already mentioned the Stockyards historical district, but there’s a lot more than just a steakhouse. The place is lined with bars, and if you’re having a night out, you can’t go wrong with any of these places.

  • Billy Bob’s Texas — The world’s largest honky-tonk with a huge dance floor and nonstop country music energy.
  • P R’s — The Google reviews are bad, and the bathroom is disgusting, but this place is wild. Go and see the seedy side of Texas and have some fun while you do it.
  • White Elephant Saloon — A classic Old West saloon packed with charm, live music, and plenty of cowboy character.
  • Second Rodeo Brewing — A fun brewery with an outdoor vibe, house-made beer, and free live music every day.
  • Rhinestone Saloon — A lively country bar with a relaxed western feel and frequent live bands.

There are a ton of bars around the Stockyards; these are just some personal favorites. Don’t be afraid to explore and get hammered wherever you see fit. I know I will.

Even if you’ve already booked your tickets, hotel, and travel, you’ve still gotta tailgate before the Eagles game, right? That’s what I thought. You can still book tailgate only or tailgate and game ticket options with Phans, too.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
