Villanova alums brought a title to New York and I feel nothing

Villanova connection or not, I’m not celebrating the Knicks championship

There are way too many people happy about this New York Knicks championship, especially in Philly, and most of it traces back to the Villanova connection. Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges all played at Villanova. For some reason, that’s supposed to make us happy.

I’m sorry — when did we get so soft? Where’s the untethered rage? If I’m not watching a Philly team win, I see red. I want everyone to suffer. If you’re going to celebrate another team’s championship, please, do it in the comfort of your own home. Or better yet, go to the hellscape that is New York City and celebrate with them.

Whatever you do, just don’t do this.

Philadelphia celebrating a Villanova Knicks championship makes me sick

Now, I know some people will call me a miserable piece of shit for having this take. Don’t care.

They’ll say I’m not a real sports fan, this, that, and the third. And they’re right, I’m not a fan of sports the way I once was. I like the Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers, Phillies, and Flyers. I don’t enjoy watching any other team in any other league. Football is the lone exception, because football is the greatest sport known to man. Other than that, you won’t catch me watching an NBA, MLB, or NHL game that doesn’t involve a Philly team.

I’m too busy to give a shit about other teams at this point in my life. The childish allure sports once held for me is long gone. Call it turning 30. All I care about, sports-wise, are the teams in my city.

The Knicks are the last team I’d ever root for

It would be one thing if a team like the Sacramento Kings won it. But we’re talking about the Knicks here, the same team that priced out their loyal fans so Ben Stiller and Spike Lee could play footsies courtside. Taylor Swift was there cosplaying as an average girlie to gain clout with her retarded fans.

It was all superficial bullshit, and if you watched any of the sports talk shows, that’s all you were fed. I saw more about the celebrities in attendance than the actual game being played. It made me want to throw up.

So yeah, you’d have a better chance winning the lotto than making me happy with a bunch of Villanova guys winning a title in New York. Kick rocks.
