Former Barstool Sports employee Trysta Krick finds a perfect new home at WIP in Philly

Former Barstool Sports employee Trysta Krick is apparently coming to Philadelphia. The host of “This League” on the Barstool platform announced earlier today that she would be leaving Barstool to pursue other opportunities in a video clip on social media. Krick, known best for her lack of knowledge on basketball and absolutely tanking the “This League” brand, will be working for BetMGM, WFAN, and none other than Philadelphia’s worst radio station in the city, WIP.

Here’s the most interesting part of what she said in reference to Philadelphia:

“Shoutout to Philly, for making my career take a next step. Because of you, Philly fans, without your rage, none of this would be possible.”

She also posted this earlier this month:

She’s not wrong, much like WIP, Krick constantly took the approach of basically trolling Philadelphia fans that are too dumb to realize that it was all an act to begin with. In return, she got engagement through the roof by saying things that she probably doesn’t even mean all last season about Simmons and the 76ers. Here at The Liberty Line, we call these people frauds.

So of course, it makes total sense that she joins a Philadelphia radio station that thrives off the exact same emotions of Philadelphia sports fans who simply don’t know any better but to feed into engaging with the terrible takes spewed out across social media and the radio airwaves across Philly. Angelo Cataldi, the Eskin family, Joe Giglio, and ESP are all prime examples of this “marketing strategy.”

Of course, concerns about Ben Simmons in the playoffs were valid. So right now, it looks like Krick was right about some of the dumb things she tweeted. But it’s not like it was ground breaking news or some crazy insight that no one knew in the first place. The opportunity was there and Philadelphia bit hook line and sinker.

WIP hiring her just so people can hate on her and what she says about Philadelphia sports is nothing short of a toxic mess and insulting to the entire city. Instead of hiring people that provide insight to the Philadelphia fan base, talk rationally about sports, and for lack of a better term “have fun” when speaking with sports fans on the radio, WIP continuously takes the opposite approach. They live to make people upset and thrive off negative emotions from often disgruntled Philadelphia sports fans.

At the end of the day, there’s really no one to blame but Philadelphia sports fans. These examples constantly pop up and they all lead back to WIP. Still, people follow these losers online and call into their dumb radio shows and give them the engagement and analytics they need to keep their successful stranglehold on Philly sports talk radio.

We did this to ourselves. Well, not me, but you guys did this. Thanks.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.

  1. I find this article absurd and a take that is begging for attention. WIP is the most listened to sports show in Philly for a reason. If you can’t have fun on a radio show where exactly can you have fun. Poking fun at the crazy fans isn’t dumb it’s Philly the fans are batsh*t. Are we supposed to listen to a nationally backed station who can’t find a good personality to save their lives. I tried listening to 97.5 in the afternoon but the host is just awful not sure how anyone can’t listen to him
