Rumor: Eagles could trade Alex Singleton, Eric Wilson, ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline
In one of the more confusing trade rumors this season, it appears Alex Singleton and Eric Wilson have been discussed in potential deals. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently listed numerous names involved in trade talks, and among them were the Eagles’ starting linebackers.
This rumor isn’t a bad one but just doesn’t make sense. Singleton and Wilson are amongst the worst linebackers in football so getting anything in return is a huge win. My question is, who willingly wants to start these two? Despite having a defense catered to them, Singleton and Wilson have graded out near the bottom of every stat this season.
“The Eagles have a couple of linebackers, Eric Wilson and Alex Singleton, who’ve made starts this year who could be had. And of course, Philly’s 2019 first-round left tackle, Andre Dillard, has been discussed, and could be a reclamation project for someone.”
Andre Dillard has been a name brought up by many after his impressive starts this season. With the Eagles’ injury history on the line, a trade doesn’t seem likely unless it’s a significant haul in return. Some of the rumored teams interested in the left tackle are the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
The NFL’s trade deadline is on November 2nd, and it could be an exciting one. Deshaun Watson no longer seems to be going to Miami, while Desean Jackson has now entered the trade market. For the Eagles, there’s a chance Alex Singleton and Eric Wilson’s final games in midnight green come this Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
