Angelo Cataldi disturbs peace with Gardner Minshew get-up, brutal 94.1 WIP thread on QB controversy
We all knew a Gardner Minshew-led Birds win heading into the bye week would be the perfect storm for WIP. However, what we didn’t realize was just how bad it would get. We saw Angelo Cataldi rock his Minshew get-up for one day, and that was bad enough. But a new video from WIP’s Twitter shows Cataldi may have changed his look for good.
Today, some poor soul had to go around the WIP office and ask the troglodytes they call on-air personalities if they were riding with Jalen Hurts. Starting, of course, with Sleepy Cataldi.
Before we even get into the validity of his take on the QB situation, if you think he looks anything like Gardner Minshew in this outfit, you either need Lasik or are lying to yourself. He looks like an old Yugoslav drug dealer that still tries to hit on high school seniors. But that’s not the point.
Cataldi’s infatuation with Minshew is understandable. He’s a morning show host that rarely even watches sports. So locker room and off-the-field stuff is the only thing he really knows how to talk about. QB controversies are chum in the water for hacks like him.
Also, he tries to justify benching Hurts for the rest of the year but having him back as the starter next year. Jesus Christ, Cataldi, have you learned nothing?
You know what, he has. Cataldi knows the formula works, and is riding it until his long-overdue retirement from this industry. Plus, he needs something to talk about during the bye week. God forbid he watch the Sixers play. They tip at 7:00 pm most nights, Way past his bedtime.
If you have the wherewithal to tap or click on the above tweet, you’ll see it’s actually the start of a thread. That thread, of course, takes you down into the most braindead rabbit hole.
I didn’t even bother to watch anymore. I saw Howard Eskin was in New York with his kid that he probably dropped on his head as a baby and almost deleted Twitter entirely.
I know there are good people at WIP. There are quality personalities across play-by-play to talk radio. But at the same time, I don’t care. Let’s just pray this bye week – and the next – year goes by quickly so we can be free of this QB controversy and Angelo Cataldi for good.
