Merrill Reese thinks FedEx Field is a “dump,” didn’t travel for 94.1 WIP

Eagles radio commentator and broadcasting legend Merrill Reese called last Sunday’s game against the Washington [NAME REDACTED] as he always does. However, he did so from his home booth in Lincoln Financial Field.

The reason Reese and color analyst Mike Quick stayed behind? Not COVID, although that was standard protocol last season.

Instead, the team remained in Philadelphia for one simple reason: FedEx field is an irredeemable trash heap of a stadium.

You don’t have to take my word for it either. Reese has said it himself many times. So even if his statements haven’t been totally public, it’s a commonly known fact by others in his field.

According to a recent article in the Inquirer, Reese told former Sixers announcer Marc Zumoff, “I have been complaining about that dump for years.” And for a good reason!

If Merrill Reese is saying it, you know it’s true.

Look, I don’t know Reese personally, but he seems like one of the nicest guys of all time. If he’s openly calling your stadium a dump, odds are it’s the biggest piece of shit this side of the Mississippi.

The worst part about this is that I can’t even exaggerate how big a dump FedEx field is. We’ve seen sewage pipes explode on fans (twice!!).

Taylor Heinicke had to pick scissors up off the field. I mean, how the hell did a pair of scissors even get there??

And, most recently, the barricades for one of the seating areas famously collapsed, almost injuring our beloved Jalen Hurts.

Railing collapse at Eagles-Washington Football Team game has a silver lining - Reese is right to call it a dump

It’s clear Dan Snyder and the WFT are happy to let their stadium crumble to the ground. Hopefully, it serves as an ugly monument to the failures of hubris-ridden billionaires.

Well, that and awful football.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
