Buccaneers called game up 14-0, said Jalen Hurts couldn’t read in the NFL’s latest Mic’d Up Video

Damn. I don’t even know why I watched this video. The last thing any Eagles’ fan would want to do is relive the brutal Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At the same time, I’m a sucker for any and all mic’d up videos released by the NFL so I decided to put my football fandom through pain and suffering one last time to wrap up the 2021-22 Eagles season.
During the NFL’s Mic’d Up Super Wild Card Weekend video, Todd Bowles pointed out to a few of his defensive players that Jalen Hurts can’t read. I’m no mind reader but I think it’s safe to say he’s talking about Hurts’ ability to read a defense.
Sure. The video doesn’t look good but honestly, I don’t really give a shit anyways. It’s not like that’s some incredible insight into Jalen Hurts in the first place. Everyone in the entire city of Philadelphia is well aware that Hurts struggles to go through his progressions and make the right throw. Great job, Todd Bowles, you really cracked the code on this one.
Also, did the Tampa Bay defense really need to be told that Hurts struggles reading their defensive packages? Probably not. I think it was pretty evident with Hurts playing like absolute dog shit all game on a busted ankle that took away his ability to make plays on the ground
In any pass-heavy game during the regular season, Hurts struggled. Way to earn that paycheck, Todd. You really figured out the secret ingredient in beating the Eagles.
On the day, Hurts completed just 23-of-43 passes with two interceptions and if we’re being honest with ourselves the only real stats he put up was when the Eagles were down 31-0 heading into the fourth quarter and I was screaming at the TV from my couch that Gardner Minshew should be playing.
Yeah, things got real ugly. I’m not proud of it either.
While Tom Brady was picking apart our defense, when the Buccaneers went up 14-0, head coach Bruce Arians was already calling game, saying that they scored enough points already to win. Damn, it would have been amazing to come back and beat the Bucs after this was caught on video, but clearly, Arians was spot on.
All of this just brings me back to Tom Brady and his press conferences leading up to Wild Card weekend. I called it from the jump that Brady praising the Eagles as a “tough competitor” was one of the biggest examples of “cap” that I have ever seen.
The GOAT knew exactly what he was doing and then went out, executed, and beat the living shit out on Jonathan Gannon and the Eagles defense.
People who were surprised or upset about Bowles saying the Hurts can’t read or Arians saying the game was over while they were up 14-0 are probably the same people who got upset about Brady’s weird videos that he does literally after every playoff win, when one of his social media interns put Meek Mill’s Dreams and Nightmares at the end of it.
Everyone needs to just get over it. Season is over. Unfortunately, this is what winning teams do. Tom Brady is a winner. He destroys anyone that’s in his way. None of the above should come as any surprise. Enjoy the rest of the playoffs. Cheers.
