Brandon Graham on Jalen Hurts’ future: “It’s never 100%, especially with Howie”

Despite his claims during their end-of-season press conference, some Eagles players don’t seem convinced that Howie Roseman believes in Jalen Hurts.

Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham spoke with 94.1 WIP yesterday and provided an interesting answer when asked if he was sold that Jalen Hurts would be the Eagles’ QB next season.

“I’m never sold because you never know what the organization is thinking and what way they’ll go, but I do feel like he’s young. He’s someone who comes in and works. I think it’s all about who you put him with… it’s never 100%, especially with Howie.”

Yikes. I’m sure Graham was just providing an honest answer and gives some glowing compliments to Hurts, but it doesn’t look good when you read it back.

BG doesn’t even provide an “I’m sold on him” portion to his comment to reaffirm his stance. Roseman has always been known to evaluate every option despite what he says publicly, so Graham isn’t wrong in that aspect.

The Eagles’ GM and Nick Sirianni were spotted scouting Kenny Pickett and other quarterbacks at the 2022 Senior Bowl. It was likely due diligence, but as Graham said, you never know.

Again, I’m not coming in here saying Graham doesn’t believe in Hurts. That’s likely far from the case. However, it’s just as bad when key members of your team publicly comment on your inability to commit to a quarterback. These statements can easily cause rifts, so let’s hope Howie actually sticks to his word for once.
