Report: Former Eagles CB signs with AFC team

The Eagles will need a new CB2 in 2022.
First reported by Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle, CB Steven Nelson has agreed to a two-year deal worth $10M.

Nelson signed with the Eagles last offseason on a one-year deal and was a solid starter across from Darius Slay. He started in every game, excluding the meaningless Dallas finale, recording 50 tackles, seven passes defended and one interception.
Aside from Slay, the Eagles don’t have much proven talent on the roster at outside corner:
- Tay Gowan
- Craig James
- Mac McCain
- Zech McPhearson
- Josiah Scott
- Andre Chachere
- Kary Vincent Jr.
With two first-round picks in the upcoming draft, the team could look to target Sauce Gardner or Derek Stingley Jr. — who both project to be Day-1 starters in the NFL.
Sauce Gardner's career passer rating allowed: 31.8
