Injury Update: Corey Knebel hits in the 15-Day IL with lat strain, Coonrod reinstated

In the bottom of the seventh inning during yesterday’s 6-0 loss to the New York Mets, Corey Knebel exited the ball game after throwing just 14 pitches, nine of which were balls.
Clearly, there was something wrong with Knebel, and we learned after the game that he suffered a lat strain. Knebel traveled back to Philadelphia instead of heading to Cincinnati with the rest of the team and received an MRI today.
According to the Phillies, Knebel has been placed on the 15-Day Injured List. Sam Coonrod has been reinstated from the 60-Day IL and LHP Andrew Vasquez has been designated for assignment.
