Eagles HC Nick Sirianni reveals team captains for the 2022 season

Following a crazy week of roster transactions, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to the media to discuss everything that had transpired over the last few days.
To close out his press conference with the Philly media, Nick Sirianni officially announced this year’s group of captains.
2022 Eagles Captains
- Offense: Jalen Hurts, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce
- Defense: Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay
- Special Teams: Jake Elliott
No surprises here.
Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jalen Hurts will lead the offensive side of the ball, while Darius Slay, Brandon Graham, and Fletcher Cox will captain the defensive ship. Kicker Jake Elliott will assume the captain role for the special teams unit.
Last season, the Eagles only named six captains as opposed to seven this season. BG, Kelce, Hurts, and Cox were honored with captain duties in 2021, along with the recently departed Rodney McLeod and Alex Singleton.
As Sirianni stated during his presser, team captains were voted on by their teammates. It’s no secret that each of these players brings more than just great ability to the field; it’s their leadership that sets them apart.
The 2022 NFL season is just over a week away. With the amount of talent scattered throughout the roster, along with this crew of captains leading them into battle every Sunday, this Eagles season has all the makings of something special.
