Legal Tampering: Eagles showing interest in veteran quarterback

With QB Gardner Minshew hitting the open market, the Eagles will need a new insurance policy for Jalen Hurts in 2023.
Philadelphia could look to draft and develop a young QB like UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson, but the latest rumors suggest that they have their eyes on a veteran.
According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Eagles are among several teams showing interest in free agent QB Jacoby Brissett.
#Browns veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett has drawn interest from teams, including #Buccaneers #Eagles others at start of #NFLFreeAgency, per league sources. Passed for 2,608 yards, 12 touchdowns, six interceptions, and rushed for 243 yards, two scores last season

Brissett, 30, last played for the Cleveland Browns in 2022, filling in at quarterback until Deshaun Watson returned from suspension. The team’s interest in Brissett is far from surprising — Nick Sirianni coached the signal-caller for three seasons in Indianapolis before Philadelphia hired Sirianni and Brissett signed with the Dolphins in 2021.
During last year’s joint training camps with the Browns, Sirianni and Brissett spoke about their friendships with one another.
“He’s the best,” Sirianni said. “My kids still ask, ‘How’s Jacoby doing?’ My wife still asks about him. I don’t really want to talk about other people’s teams, but Jacoby and I are close. Jacoby is special to me so I don’t mind doing this with him, and so I always thought of him as such a good leader, such a good teammate, such a great guy to be around every day.”
“Remember he was trying to fight fans one time they were booing us,” Brissett said of his former coach. “A lot of good memories. A great friend. A great coach obviously. I am extremely happy for him and the opportunity that he has been presented. I think he did a great job last year. Excited to see where he goes. I am a big fan of him.”
Brissett completed 64% of his passes last season for 2608 yards, 12 TDs, and 6 INTs while adding 243 yards and two scores on the ground.
