WATCH: Alec Bohm reflects on “I f*cking hate this place” comment 1 year later

Phillies slugger and fan-favorite Alec Bohm has had a strong start to 2023. Funnily enough, there was a time exactly one year ago it seemed he no longer wanted anything to do with the Phils and their fans, going so far as to say, “I fucking hate this place.” Of course, the way he handled it afterward somehow made us love him even more than we did, and the rest is history.
Alec Bohm was asked about how he feels about it now before the Tuesday night matchup with the Marlins:
Couldn’t agree more, Alec. It feels like just yesterday we were booing the shit out of you for sucking, and you let everyone know how you really felt.
It was one of the best moments of the season by far and a catalyst for an epic turnaround for both Alec Bohm and the team. Hell, the very next night, he got a standing ovation!
That clip still brings a tear to my eye.
Fortunately, this moment begat other, more significant ones throughout a very successful season. One of my favorites is his RBI HBP against the Cardinals in Game 1 of the Wild Card, which brought the Phils within one run in the 9th inning.
The other is the clip of him screaming like a maniac in the dugout, fist clasped close to his chest after an incredible play in the NLCS. I couldn’t decide which one to include, so I’m putting them both below.
