The best Eagles road trips in 2023, ranked

The NFL schedule was officially released about a month ago, which means Eagles fans know the exact 17-game slate their team will face in 2023. More importantly, however, we’ve had some time to think about which road games we want to make the trip for and start doing some concrete planning.
Here’s the complete list of Eagles road trips this season:

Before we jump in, I know the prospect of organizing a trip can seem daunting. Fortunately, we at The Liberty Line have partnered with Phans of Philly, the premier organizers of Eagles road trips.
Now that the official schedule is released be sure to bookmark their Eagles road trips page. Right now, Kansas City, Dallas, and Tampa are available. Two of those will rank highly on my list, and I think we both know which one I couldn’t care less about.
You may even catch us out and about on one of the Phans of Philly trips. They sent a few of us down to Arizona for the Cardinals game, and it was an incredible weekend.
They put together a smashing tailgate in the stadium district with an open bar at McFadden’s, which was included in the price of the trip. There were around 1,000 Eagles fans there and even more inside the stadium. Phans of Philly helped engineer an insane Arizona takeover.
Not sure which trip you want to go on? You’re in the right place. Let’s get into the definitive Eagles road trip rankings.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Week 3 – 9/25 @ 7:15 PM
This one right here is the moneymaker. It’s always a bummer when warm-weather destinations are early in the season, but no matter. Per my sources in the region, Tampa is a hell of a place to party. Plus, Raymond James Stadium has that pirate ship built into it, which is pretty sick.
It will also be a great opportunity to exorcise some past demons from Eagles road trips past. While this is hardly the same Bucs squad that beat the Birds in the playoffs two seasons ago, it will be a sweet one to win.
Also, Phans of Philly’s tailgate menu for this one is unreal:
Los Angeles Rams – Week 5 – 10/8 @ 4:05 PM
LA, baby. The city of dreams (I think). Another destination I’m sure most people had circled before the schedule even dropped, this one is sure to be a hot ticket as far as Eagles road trips go.
I’ve never been to Los Angeles, and I hear the traffic blows. BUT it’s a game we’ve got a damn good chance of winning in one of the most happening cities in the western hemisphere.
It’ll be fun to see and be amongst Philly fans in a city that’s pretty much antithetical to everything we hold dear. Combine that with a state-of-the-art stadium and what I can only imagine is a banging food scene, and I think we’ll find a way to make LA our own for the weekend.
Kansas City Chiefs – Week 11 – 11/20 @ 8:15 PM
Arrowhead is a must-visit spot for any discerning football fan, and this year it’s no different. Sure, it could be tough to see the Super Bowl LVII banner hanging from the rafters, but a win in Chiefs Kingdom during the season would wash some of that pain away.
Add some beer and barbecue to the mix and that inner turmoil in your gut will fade and be replaced with numbness and, hopefully, contentment. As tortured souls, that’s all we Eagles fans can really ask for.
New England Patriots – Week 1 – 9/10 @ 4:25 PM
While not quite the destination Seattle is, Foxborough edges out the Emerald City by a hair for a couple of reasons. The first is the weather. A beautiful New England fall afternoon is quite literally a perfect day drinking environment.
The second is that it’s the first game of the season and the first Eagles road trip of the season. The excitement is sure to be at a fever pitch, likely even more than usual. You also will have a chance to boo Tom Brady during that stupid ceremony, which is nice.
Seattle Seahawks – Week 15 – 12/17 @ 4:25 PM
Seattle would have been a top-three destination for me if this matchup was placed earlier in the season. I hear it’s a great town, and we all know how passionate the fanbase is, but I find it hard to stomach the idea of boarding a cross-country flight to watch football in the freezing rain.
I’m all for a good Eagles road trip with the fellas, though, so if TLL is riding to Seattle, I’ll be there with a smile on my face. I can rest easy on the plane knowing Phans of Philly will have us covered rain, sleet, or shine.
Dallas Cowboys – Week 14 – 12/10 @ 8:20 PM
Ahhhh Jerry World. I was tempted to slot this higher on the list mostly because I’m so morbidly curious to see that hulking monstrosity for myself. There is also something to be said about the thrill of being behind enemy lines.
Regardless, we’re in Dallas every year until either the league folds or the heat death of the universe occurs, whichever comes first. My money is on the latter.
New York Jets – Week 6 – 8/15 @ 4:25 PM
Gross!
New York Giants – Week 18 – TBD
See above.
Washington Commanders – Doesn’t matter – Don’t care.
Merrill Reese is right. I’d rather die. Josh Harris can go to hell as well.
