New England’s offensive line was already a question mark to begin with. It’s even more worrisome considering who the Pats are about to face in Week 1 – our Philadelphia Eagles. A defense that recorded a league-high 70 sacks a year ago and has arguably gotten even more ferocious up front with the additions of Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith.
Per Pro Football Focus, only two of the Patriots’ starting offensive lineman ranked inside the top-10 at their respective positions in 2022 – RG Mike Onwenu and C David Andrews. Both of their starters on the left side of the line, LG Cole Strange and LT Trent Brown, posted sub-68.0 offensive grades last season, and both ranked outside the top-40 at their positions.
As we all know, the Eagles win games by dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball. There’s no doubt they have the clear advantage versus New England’s banged up o-line in Week 1.
