Eagles Safety

Bad Beat: Sports bettor loses $24K after Eagles recorded a safety against the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football

The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season after a 25-11 road win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

Eagles fans accounted for nearly 60% of the people who attended Monday night’s game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida (shoutout fans of Philly). Honestly, the game shouldn’t even have been that close but as long as the Birds are winning football games, nothing else even matters this early in the season.

Unfortunately, not everyone was too happy with the result of the game on Monday night.

After Jalen Hurts was intercepted by Dee Delaney on a ball deep ball thrown to the front corner of the end zone on pass intended for DeVonta Smith, the Buccaneers took over on their own 1-yard line.

On 1st & 10 from their own 1-yard line, running back Rachaad White was stuffed in the end zone by Eagles linebacker Nicholas Morrow.

The result was a safety, which couldn’t have been any worse of a play result for one sports bettor who wagered $24,000 for a potential $960 payout at BetRivers Sportsbook if no safety was recorded during the game.

Side Note: The Darius Slay Safety Dance is ELITE. Slay and Reed Blankenship were all over the field Monday Night dancing their asses off. Hilarious.

Anyways, talk about a bad beat on that safety. That’s why you can’t try to get cute with Vegas. They will turnaround and bite your hand off or in this case, empty your bank account.

Not to mention, betting that the Eagles defensive line wouldn’t get to Baker Mayfield and cause havoc in the backfield was a wild move to begin with, so maybe take that bet on someone else that doesn’t have Jalen Carter playing like a grizzled veteran just three games into his professional career, ya know?
