Two of the best defensive tackles in the NFL will face off against each other this weekend when the Eagles travel to LA to take on the Rams.
Eagles rookie Jalen Carter and future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald will be on center stage this Sunday at SoFi. According to Pro Football Focus, these are the two best interior defenders in the game right now. Carter is the highest-graded DT on the season, holding a 92.2 defensive grade. Donald finds himself right behind him with a 91.3.
In anticipation for Sunday’s Week 5 matchup, Carter was asked about seeing Donald for the first time and what his reaction would be.
“Probably chop it up about anything that he can give to me as a rookie,” Carter told reporters when asked about meeting Donald. “I’ll probably take a picture with him too.”
Carter has been dominant through his first four NFL games, tallying 20 pressures, 16 hurries, two sacks, and three total tackles. Given the lackluster state of the Rams offensive line, Carter should feast again this weekend.
He should also see even more playing time than he’s already gotten, with Fletcher Cox expected to miss this week’s game.
