Jordan Mailata and The Philly Specials have released the first track off of their upcoming sophomore Christmas album, going straight for the jugular of Mariah Carey with their own rendition of “All I Want for Christmas is You”.

Talk about a wild move releasing “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as the first single for the upcoming album. That song has been dominated by Mariah Carey and I will say, the boys are about to give the Queen of Christmas songs a run for her money. 

Jordan Mailata, as we all know at this point, has the voice of a god damn angel. This guy was a rugby player. Everyone thought he couldn’t play American football and now he’s one of the best in the NFL.

Mariah Carey thinks she owns “All I Want for Christmas”? Not so fast. Here comes Mailata.

This version sounds pretty damn good to me and really, gives all the boys a reason to toss on a Christmas album without looking like total dorks.

If I had one gripe, it would be the fact that we cannot be releasing new Christmas music until after Thanksgiving, which is hands down the best holiday of the year.

I understand musicians have to start pushing their new albums but why not just release the songs starting December 1st leading up to the Christmas and let us all enjoy the remainder of the fall season and the Thanksgiving holiday? 

Anyways, good stuff as always from Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata, and the rest of the boys dominating along the offensive line while also recording hit records.
