Robert Griffin III solved the Eagles’ offensive issues in under 1 minute
Robert Griffin III gets some flack for being a bit corny from time to time, but his career as a football player and analyst speaks for itself. In a recent broadcast of ESPN’s Get Up, the former NFL QB fixed a big part of Eagles’ issues in less than a minute.
Robert Griffin III knows the Eagles have to “RUN THE GOT DANG FOOTBALL”:
The @Eagles are trying to find themselves too late into the season. WE ALL KNOW their identity but apparently they don’t. They are the 4th best 1st and 2nd down run team in the NFL but are 21st in how often they do it. RUN THE GOT DANG FOOTBALL. The big play passes will follow. pic.twitter.com/RvwHSw2kEz

Weirdly specific windsurfing reference aside, he’s right!!! Of course, the fans have known this and have let the team know about it relentlessly, most recently during the game against the Giants.
It’s shocking how there’s so much common sense surrounding the situation but there isn’t one iota of it on the Eagles’ sideline. For the love of God, run the football.
They have the best offensive line in football and a near-1,000 yard rusher despite getting a criminally low amount of touches. Sure, just running the ball on 1st and 2nd down isn’t enough – the Birds need to get a little more creative in the run game than just inside zone every other run. Predictability is a big part of the team’s issues across the whole offense.
If you’re looking for a more in-depth breakdown of the the team’s offensive struggles without any watersports analogies, definitely check out this video from Brett Kollmann. It was made before the Giants game, so the most recent issues aren’t addressed, but there was a still a lot of overlap since the problems are deeply engrained in their offensive scheme.
