Carson Wentz Rams Week 18 Starter

How Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback Carson Wentz can impact NFC Playoff seeding in Week 18

Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and blessed man of faith, Carson Wentz will be under center for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Wentz has appeared in one game since signing with the Rams in mid-November, playing just three offensive snaps during the Rams’ Week 12 blowout against the Arizona Cardinals. Sunday will mark the first time Carson Wentz has started in just over a calendar year.

How Carson Wentz can impact NFC Playoff Seeding

While the Rams have already clinched a spot in the NFC Playoffs, there are still seeding implications heading into Week 18. The Detroit Lions are almost guaranteed the No. 3 seed but could move into the No. 2 seed if both the Eagles (at Giants) and Cowboys (at Commanders) lose on Sunday.

Los Angeles is currently the No. 6 seed in the NFC, followed by the Green Bay Packers (8-8) in the No. 7 seed. From there, the Seattle Seahawks (8-8), New Orleans Saints (8-8), and Minnesota Vikings (7-9) are all looking to clinch a spot in Week 18.

NFC Playoffs:

  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Detroit Lions
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Los Angeles Rams

In the Hunt:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 4, NFC South)
  • Green Bay Packers (8-8)
  • Seattle Seahawks (8-8)
  • New Orleans Saints (8-8)

Basically…

  • Rams Win (vs. 49ers) or the Packers lose (vs. Bears), Detroit will face Los Angeles.
  • Rams Lose and the Packers win, Detroit will face Green Bay.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
