Josh Giddey noticably missing as teammates show up to Minnesota High School in honor of Chet Holmgren’s jersey retirement

Earlier in the week, several players from the Oklahoma City Thunder rolled into a Minnesota high school to show their support for teammate Chet Holmgren’s jersey being retired. 

Out of everyone from OKC who showed up to honor Holmgren, one player was noticeably missing. Josh Giddey was not in attendance, which immediately sparked the video going viral and a million jokes across social media.

I mean seriously, the jokes basically write themselves. Imagine being there when OKC had to break the news to Josh Giddey that they were all going to honor their teammate Chet Holmgren but since it was at a high school, it would be best for him to stay back given the on-going investigation about his relationship with a minor.

On Thanksgiving Day, news broke that  21-year old Josh Giddey was having a relationship with an alleged 15-year old high school junior. Basically, whenever you’re playing in the NBA and being compared to someone like Karl Malone away from the basketball court, you must have really fucked up.

Disclaimer: I have NEVER been in the Giddey camp. I went as far as suggesting that he should have been used as a faux crypto guy sacrificial lamb when his teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was dealing with some blood-thirsty killers stalking his Canadian home. Something has been up with this Aussie for months and honestly, here at The Liberty Line, we were way ahead of all of it.

Anyways, earlier last week, Giddey was cleared of any wrongdoing in the case with the 15-year old girl because “no information corroborated criminal activity”. 

GIDDEY CLEARED: I just got off the phone with Newport Beach Police. They tell me the case pertaining to Thunder's Josh Giddey is closed. No charges will be filed.

They say they found no information that corroborated criminal activity related to Giddey.

That clearly didn’t seem to be enough to risk bringing Giddey into a high school to honor Chet Holmgren.

I guess OKC didn’t want to risk it given the fact that they are 29-13 on the season and currently in second place in the Western Conference standings? 

After the dust seemed to finally settled and a judge ruled that Giddey was in the clear – the high school video goes viral and now the story is back in the internet headlines. Brutal. lol.
