Bryce Harper shows off sweet new bat at Phillies Spring Training picture day

Phillies Spring Training is officially underway. The full roster is down in Clearwater, and while picture day has been making headlines around the league for some less-than-stellar reasons, Bryce Harper has brought some positivity to the whole ordeal.

Bryce Harper gave us a look at his new Phanatic bat, and it is glorious:

Talk about on-brand. The Harper x Phanatic love affair has been well-documented since Bryce arrived in Philadelphia, and five years later, it’s going as strong as ever.

One element of the photo is slightly distracting, and that is, of course, the absolutely awful jersey he’s sporting. It’s not his fault, but Fanatics and Nike absolutely screwed the pooch on this one. The thing is borderline see-through, and the tackle twill lettering is a far cry from the embroidery we’re used to.

At least it’s not the rumored City Connect jerseys, but now that I realize those will also be made by Fanatics, they’ll probably go down as the worst jerseys in Phillies history. I’m pretty sure not even the famously handsome Bryce Harper can make them look good.

Fortunately, this bat and the new Spring Training caps are going to help take my mind off it, at least for the time being. They are Phanatic-themed as well, which I’m sure Harp had something (or everything) to do with.
