Champions Of Excuses: Former 49ers S Donte Whitner blames refs and Taylor Swift for Super Bowl loss
Although the San Francisco 49ers didn’t win the Super Bowl this past season, they’ve solidified their status as the Champions of Excuses in the NFL. There is no level too low for these guys — they’ll do whatever it takes to avoid accountability. You gotta respect it.
Former Niners safety Donte Whitner appeared on Kay Adams’s show “Up And Adam” on Tuesday to chop it up about his former team. Of course, he took this opportunity to blame not only the refs for the 49ers Super Bowl loss, but also threw shade at Taylor Swift.
Everyone associated with the 49ers is well versed in excuse making

I get it, this definitely isn’t as annoying as Deebo Samuel whining, but c’mon. Why is it ALWAYS 49ers players (former and present) complaining about stuff like this? It’s not the refs fault Brock Purdy missed multiple opportunities to win the game.
And I know his Taylor Swift comment is a little tongue and cheek, but he better hope the Swifties don’t find this. If you think us Eagles fans are bad, you have no idea what you’re in for when you go against the Swifties. Their coalition is strong and they will dismantle you on any social platform.
This kind of behavior from 49ers nation is to be expected at this point. Which is just sad, really. You guys used to be the model for NFL franchises. Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Bill Walsh. You guys had it all. And now you’re just a bunch of crybabies who can’t get over the hump. Sad.
