WATCH: Raccoon invades field, dodges trash cans at Philadelphia Union match in epic chase

The Philadelphia Union took on NYCFC last night in what amounted to a disappointing 2-1 loss. It would have been a completely forgettable match if not for a furry pitch invader making its mark on the game in the 20th minute.

A raccoon stormed the pitch at Subaru Park, evading trash can wielding officials for the better part of five minutes before finally being caught:

What a display of athleticism from the little guy. Many have dubbed him “Rocky Raccoon” for making the most legendary run in Philadelphia since Rocky ran up the Art Museum steps.

I do take a couple of issues with that, though. First, this occurred in Chester, PA. I’m not a #FromHere hardliner like some people, I’m Main Line trash myself, but I do have to acknowledge geographic and political boundaries in this instance.

Also, Rocky wasn’t real. He was a movie character. This trash panda is 100% real, so the legend is honestly greater as far as I’m concerned.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
