Bryce Harper promposal

WATCH: Bryce Harper helps kid out with legendary promposal

Spring is here, and love is in the air. High school kids everywhere have either had or are getting ready for prom, and one kid had the bright idea of asking Bryce Harper to help him ask a girl to prom.

Believe it or not, Bryce Harper came through in the clutch (as usual) for this kid’s promposal:

This is both incredibly surprising and not surprising at all. We all know Bryce is a stand-up guy with a heart of gold. But at the same time, what the heck is he doing there?

We don’t have details on how this whole thing was put together, so naturally, I have a lot of questions about the logistics. I’m thrilled he took up the cause and was there for this guy’s proposal; it’s incredible. I just have no clue how he wound up in this incredibly heartwarming situation.

Also, imagine her surprise. The Phillies franchise player is at your front door out of nowhere. No, he didn’t leave his wife and kids to be with you like you’ve written about in your dream journal countless times. But he is here nonetheless. And that means something.

I love the move from this kid, but he might have overplayed his hand a touch. Bryce Harper got a hug before he did, which, while totally understandable, had to be a bit of a bruise for the ol’ ego.

Plus, shout out to the girl’s dad for going in for the handshake. He saw his window and took it. I guarantee he gave his family a Bryce Harper handshake review after everything wrapped up. Dads rock.

I remember prom. It was terrible. If you look at the photos from my senior prom, you can see that life has left my eyes. Those of me who know, know.

But, because I’m a stand-up guy with a heart of gold as well, I wish these kids and all other promgoers the very best. Go out, have a blast, and save the drinking for post-prom. Trust me, it’s for the best.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
