Saquon Barkley NFL Top 100 List

Saquon Barkley plummets 55 spots on the NFL Top 100 List heading into the 2024 season

The NFL Top 100 list announced the first batch of players to make the list on Monday night as teams around the league begin to report to training camp.

The Eagles had seven total players on the NFL Top 100 list in 2023

  1. QB Jalen Hurts – No. 3
  2. WR A.J. Brown – No. 22
  3. C Jason Kelce – No. 37
  4. OT Lane Johnson – No. 41
  5. Haason Reddick – No. 48
  6. Darius Slay – No. 65
  7. DeVonta Smith – No. 100

Haason Reddick (New York Jets) and Jason Kelce (Retired) will not be a part of the Eagles’ 2024 haul, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a similar number of players featured when the full list is revealed.

Note: Haason Reddick, who’s currently holding out of New York Jets training camp while looking for a new contract, dropped from No. 48 in 2023 to No. 87 in 2024.

Obviously, there are several Eagles expected to be featured on this year’s list – which the NFL will reveal in groups of 10 players leading up to Friday, August 2nd when the Top 10 will be revealed live on NFL Network beginning at 8 PM ET.

Last night, two Eagles players have already been mentioned. The first player named was DeVonta Smith, who jumped 10 spots from his 2023 ranking (No. 100) to 90 in heading into 2024. Saquon Barkley was also ranked, at No. 86, down 55 spots from No. 31 in 2023.

Somewhat surprising that Saquon Barkley fell so far down the NFL Top 100 list…

Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency on a 3-year, $37.75 million contract.

In six seasons with the New York Giants, Barkley was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, amassing 5,211 rushing yards and 47 total touchdowns. He will be replacing D’Andre Swift, who is is now a member of the Chicago Bears.

Barkley had 962 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns in 14 games last season and should benefit from playing in a much better offense, specifically an elite offensive line, here in Philadelphia.

Barkley should FEAST in the Eagles new-look offense. While fans are commonly chanting “run the ball” the last two Eagles’ lead-running backs finished Top 5 in rushing.

  • Miles Sanders finished 5th in the NFL in rushing with the Eagles in 2022.
  • D’Andre Swift finished 5th in the NFL in rushing with the Eagles in 2023.
  • No. 90: DeVonta Smith [up 10 spots from No. 100 in 2023]
  • No. 86: Saquon Barkley [down 55 spots from No. 31 in 2023]
