Bait: Nick Wright tries to piss off Eagles fans by picking Philly to finish 3rd in NFC East

Ah yes, Nick Wright. FS1’s resident Eagles naysayer and Patrick Mahomes fanboy has once again tried stirring the pot here in Philadelphia.

During the latest episode of First Things First, Wright shared his NFC East predictions. As you could’ve guessed, he picked the Eagles to miss the playoffs and finish third in the NFC East, just ahead of the New York Giants.

I almost didn’t write about this because it’s giving Nick Wright exactly what he wants with this clip — engagement. Nevertheless, I’ll never forgo an opportunity to talk about how this kind of sports media discourse sucks and should exiled to the abyss.

If we want to have a real conversation about how the Eagles may not be as good as some expect this season, I’m here for it. I’ve been an Eagles fan long enough to know nothing is guaranteed. But that’s not what Nick Wright has ever wanted to do. You can tell based off the arguments he brings to the table in this clip.

Talking about how Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni have a bad relationship is old news and is just media gossip at this point. Bashing Howie Roseman for making moves to acquire notable players is… a choice, I guess? He doesn’t provide any concrete evidence that the Eagles will be bad, he’s just doing it to fill his quota.

If Wright ever says anything substantive about the Eagles, believe me, I’ll still write about it. I don’t pick and choose when to write about this guy. This is just the type of stuff he always says about the team.

So in a way, I’m thankful he always gives me stuff to yap about. We’re both in the business of getting clicks. I just wish he gave me more thoughtful stuff — not the same braindead takes I heard two months ago while listening to 94WIP. You’re better than that, Nick.
