Deebo Samuel finally comes to his senses, says he’s rooting for Eagles in Super Bowl 59
For all the trash talk San Francisco wideout Deebo Samuel has thrown the Eagles way over the past few years, it seems like he’s finally starting to come to his senses a bit.
When appearing on a Bleacher Report podcast, Deebo was asked who he’ll be rooting for in the upcoming Super Bowl between the Birds and Chiefs. His answer might surprise you.

“They [Chiefs] beat me twice so I got all the reason to hate… It’s the Chiefs and the Eagles, you know I got a love hate for both, but I got all the love for my brother AJ Brown over there, so I definitely want to see him win. I definitely don’t want to see Mahomes get the third one. I’m rocking with AJ and Saquon with this one for sure.”
About goddamn time this guy shows the Eagles an ounce of respect. I know he’s just picking the lesser of two evils in his mind, but hey, I’ll take it.
Deebo Samuel’s rooting interests probably mirrors how most people are viewing this matchup. Unless you’re an Eagles or Chiefs fan, this game probably doesn’t mean a whole lot to you. Both teams have their fair share of haters. Now that they’ll see each other in the big game for the second time in three years, I understand the fatigue.
But even if you’re watching this as an unbiased observer, just remember — these championship games are always better when history is on the line. For Kansas City, winning three Super Bowls in a row will put them in a class all by themselves, having been the only team to accomplish that feat in NFL history. For the Eagles, they could cement themselves as the class of the NFC and cap off one of the most remarkable seasons in franchise history.
One way or the other, this game will have historical implications for the NFL. I’m just glad to see Deebo Samuel rooting for the right side of history.
